A Songwriter's Ear
Music has shaped Tim's voice as much as the page has.

Where the Music Began
Music has run alongside Tim's writing since his college years, when he first picked up a guitar during his Creative Writing studies at Penn State. As a songwriter and musician, he has spent decades finding melody in the same everyday moments that fill his poems.
Many of the poems in Jungle of Faith began as something closer to lyric than verse — a line that wanted a melody before it found its final shape on the page. Reading the collection, you can often hear where a poem might once have been sung.
The Craven Family Band
The Craven Family Band plays original and traditional American folk, bluegrass, and old-time music. Tim leads on vocals, guitar, and harmonica, joined by his wife Kimberley on upright bass and his sons Oliver (fiddle, vocals) and Connor (vocals) — the same Kimberley and Oliver who appear by name elsewhere in Jungle of Faith.
